Wondering what’s crafty on YouTube? Yeah, me too. Join me as I scour the Internets looking for crafty videos.
I love this clip because the doll featured in it is simply too kool for skool. And it looks likeSuzanne Steiger of steigerbeat, a member of the Louisville Craft Mafia (make sure to check out their site, they’ve got one of the deadliest logos around!), got a little bit of morning newscast love! Well I’ll be!

I have an idea that relates to cardmaking. (If this is not a new idea, I won’t be offended if you screen my comment out.) I discovered that by cutting out pictures of people from their backgrounds, sometimes you end up with a cool silhouette that sort of looks like a person but is also sort of abstract. I did this with a 3/4 profile of a woman that was just her head and shoulders and part of her dress. By cutting around the shoulders and dress, I ended up with an irregular shape that was almost like a bird’s wing. I made both the woman’s head and its background into stencils to put on other types of paper.
I cut this image out of an old auction catalogue, which is a good source for collaging as well.
