Crafty News Roundup!

Crafty Roundup

There is so much crafty awesomeness going on right now! We’re hard at work planning the 10th annual Detroit Urban Craft Fair, but wanted to make sure to share all of this other rad stuff that other people in our community are doing right now.

  • Congratulations to Lisa at Pot & Box and the whole team of volunteers who worked on the masterpiece of the Flower House. It was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful! If you didn’t get a chance to go, you can see pictures and read more about the project on their Facebook page or on This is Colossal, Martha Stewart and New York Times.
  • Brazen Cosmetics has bought a vintage 1972 Shasta Airflyte Camper and is moving her shop into it! We can’t wait to see Sandi’s new digs. Go and shop her moving sale at her brick & mortar in Ferndale, open 12-6 Wednesday through Saturday.
  • The Detroit Art and Business Institute is now offering free membership! Located in Detroit or across the country, you can sign up for targeted business coaching, work (grow your business) in group workshops and more. Sign up here. For Detroit locals, the DABI’s  “Mind Your Art Business” begins in January, runs for 8 weeks and is a great way to begin your 2016 business plans and goals.
  • Craft Handmade, a new handmade gift shop is opening in Adrian in late November. You may know the owner, Melissa, as Owl’s Nest Crochet (a Detroit Urban Craft Fair vendor). We are so excited to shop there!
