Our friends at I3 Detroit are looking to move and expand their work space in order to host even more and bigger classes for the crafters, hackers and makers in Metro Detroit.

Anyone can pledge their donations through the new Kickstarter.com, a fund raising site used by artists, inventors, writers and other creative entreprenuers.

They are looking to raise $5000 by April 4th at 2:00, and are more than halfway there as of today (March 19th).

Just like the PBS telethons, I3 is offering multiple levels for pledges so you can get a bunch of free, cool swag (no totebags here), free classes or even a year’s membership according to your pledge amount. You can also get a customized Scrabble key chain made special for you just like the make and take they offered at last year’s Detroit Urban Craft Fair.

Pledge $1 or $1000, and your credit card will be billed after the pledge drive is over – but only if all $5000 of the goal is achieved.
