Our retuning sponsors Mutual Adoration have had such a big and busy year! Let’s catch up with POST!
“For the last six years, Mutual Adoration has dreamed, crafted, and manufactured custom furniture, picture frames, and housewares, using reclaimed wood. Artist owned and operated, Mutual Adoration is committed to making all of their work environmentally friendly, sustainable, and locally sourced. Clare Fox and Wayne Maki (owners, artists, partners, and woodworkers) craft each piece to be stylish, functional, and intricately beautiful.
In 2017, Clare and Wayne pushed the Mutual Adoration brand farther than they ever have before. In need a larger workshop, a classroom space, and a showroom they opened POST. Housed in an old post office on Detroit’s east side, POST is an open concept retail shop and production studio.
2018 was a year of major growth – Mutual Adoration’s work can be found in shops and galleries in 20+ states and POST now carries products from 100+ makers, many of which are Michigan-based and crafted by women-owned businesses. Their contemporary craft education programming has been very popular as well. Clare and Wayne, along with dozens of talented guest instructors, have taught hands-on workshops to hundreds of students in the the POST studios. The goal is to share skills, collaborate on creative projects, and offer an intimate shopping/learning experience for customers.
In 2019 Mutual Adoration will be taking POST on the road with a mobile shop and classroom, called OUTPOST. Coming to you next year!”
We consider ourselves lucky to have their return as sponsors this year. Its this kind of vendor growth that gives s that buzzy show-weekend feel throughout the year!
Please be certain to visit their booth at DUCF and consider shopping their store or joining a workshop in the near future!
