The Detroit Institute of Arts is hosting a poster contest through February 15th with the theme of “Let’s Save Michigan”. Artists can submit their original uplifting posters, to the LetsSaveMichigan website and the judges will pick their favorite 25 to be voted on by the public. Ideally, the submissions should be inspired by their upcoming exhibit “Government Support for the Arts: WPA Prints from the 1930s“, which is now open and runs through March 21st.
The winner of the contest will receive $1000, and the runner up will get $250. All of the finalists will have their works exhibited later in the spring at the DIA, which is of itself a great honor!
We can’t wait to see what all you talented crafters and artists out there can make to show your Michigan pride, and we will make sure to post the links to the finalist’s works and when the exhibit opens!
