This just in! The Loop gals were hard at work last week for an important reason. Read below to find out why! From our own Glass Action! Care:
“I’m happy to report there’s another fun dance party in the works!
From “the creeps” that brought you ‘Zombie Dance Party…’
‘LET’S MAKE LOVE A Masquerade Dance Party!’Saturday, Feb. 9
The Magic Stick
4120 Woodward Avenue
Detroit, MI 48201
(313) 833-9700, ext. 205 or 406 (VM)
Doors are at 9p.m., cover price is $8 and ages 18 and up welcome.
This event is a rock show/dance party/mixer/mingler … a place for couples to celebrate their romance and for singles to meet new people and dance around.
‘Weirdo’ formal attire is highly encouraged and takes these events to the next level. Red/pink/white tuxes, gowns, jumpsuits, two- and three-piece suits, tap dancing and tumbling outfits, leisure suits and the like wanted.
Ferndale-based crafting group Loop are making custom Masquerade Masks for the event. They’ll be available at the show.
In respect to traditional party etiquette, there will be a catered midnight snack spread. This will be presented between live performances.
There will be some raffle prizes as well, including folk/pop artist Gwen Joy’s original painting for this show (see above flyer art).
I’m thrilled to present the musical talents for this event:
- Special Guest DJ: “DJ Anytime” (Steve Nawara fmr: Electic Six, Detroit Cobras and head cheese at Beehive Record Company)
- And super special rare live performances by two of Detroit’s most original bands in the last 15 years… The Witches and Volebeats!”
