Here’s a new event set for this spring in Ann Arbor. Check out the event release below. To apply, contact Siobhan bluehouseannarbor [at] gmail [dot] com. Spaces are first come, so apply ASAP. There’s no deadline to apply – the show will stop accepting vendors as soon as it’s full.
EVENT: Handmade @ Blue House. This event is a “juried handmade event”, a sales based event featuring locally handmade goods that requires advanced vendor application, screening and acceptance by Blue House. Vendors who fulfill the Blue House application requirements and are accepted by Blue House will hereinafter be known as “Accepted Vendors”. You have specifically been requested to be a part of this, our first community wide event. Please do consider joining us, your participation will really help bring Handmade to our community at large.
VENUE: The Blue House. You may arrive as early as 9 a.m. to begin setting up. Please be set up and ready to sell by 10:50 a.m. Event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. You must stay set up in your assigned space until the close. Load-out time is until 6 p.m. All vendors are responsible for their own clean up. Vendors may load in from the parking lot. The Event Team will help direct traffic and will help you find a parking spot nearby or if the distance is great we’ll give you a lift back. We want to save the immediate parking nearest to Blue House to attract more shoppers. That’s a good thing.
DESIGN: Spaces are assigned. Please check in with Siobhan when you arrive. Your space will have a table and two chairs there for you. If you don’t want to use it, just let someone on the Event Team know, and we’ll take care of it for you. Table sizes are hodge podge, bear with us. If your display requires certain space requirements just note it on the app. Most spaces have electrical power nearby, just note that you need it on your app and we’ll do our best. Only products that were listed on your application and approved may be sold or displayed. Blue House reserves the right to request removal of all items not granted pre-approval. If you have an addition to your display, just let us know in advance. We ask that you are in attendance for the duration of the day to represent your work and foster one on one trade — maker & buyer. Helpers are welcome too.
APPLICATION & FEE: This event will be closed at 25 vendorsCompleted applications may be sent via email for the quickest receipt. The $40 fee is a non-refundable fee once you are a confirmed vendor. This is put directly into the promotion and execution of this event. You can split a table fee with a friend(s) (they need to complete the app also) and share the space. Each artist needs to be at the event for the duration to represent their goods effectively. If you get sick, can’t come, etc. – let us know we’ll do everything we can to get a replacement so that you can be reimbursed. The fee is due asap along with the completed application. We’ll confirm receipt immediately.
Payment: Blue House, LLC 1700 Cherokee Ann Arbor, MI 48104. The word is out – so please mail your payment today, this will guarantee your spot and give us a good head count for space requirements.
PROMOTION: If you have ever been told that you have a big mouth – We need you! Pass out flyers, hang posters, post social network bulletins, etc. Send us a note – we’ll get you what you need to get this done quick and easy. We will have a co-sponsorship with a local non-profit, right now we are looking at a local women’s shelter & Foodgatherers. There will be a door fee of $1 or a donation to the selected non-profit. There will also be 2 raffles – consider donating one of your goods ?
