Save the Date! Detroit Urban Craft Fair 2010 will be December 4th and 5th at the Fillmore Detroit!

IndiePublic up for sale

Well, here’s something interesting. Crafting social networking site IndiePublic is up for sale… You’re always reading NY Times reports of how much Facebook, MySpace, etc. go for, but this is the first time I’ve come across a niche social networking site hitting the auction block. They’re looking for a buyer, but I’m not sure what happens after that point.

The asking price? $18,500. I guess if you were ever wondering how much a site filled with crafters would cost, now you know…

Whoa! Do you have a link to a story or anything? (The site is down for fixing just now.) I don’t want to jump to conclusions but am really interested in the reasons it’s for sale. It’s not that old! Plus, how can something be sold if it’s built on ning? Fascinating to say the least. :)

I got an e-mail about it. The person said she was too busy/couldn’t do it anymore, etc. I know, I’m super surprised!

Very interesting, can’t wait to read. Some of these craft sites are worth a ton now since Etsy and Craft keep getting profiled in business mags and the WSJ about all the money they make.
