Fusing plastic for… anything!

Thanks to the fine folks at Etsy, I’ve spent my Saturday afternoon experimenting with fusing plastic. Make sure to read their tutorial for the lowdown, and check out this awesome Flickr photo set for some great pictures. Here are a few tips I’ve realized so far:

  • Target bags are easy-peasy to use. Meijer bags… not so much. Same for you, Kroger.
  • Make sure to lightly hit all the edges of the bags to secure them.
  • My older iron needed to be a little bit hotter to work with.
  • Parchment paper is great to use as your covering agent.

I’m off to find more bags! Have you ever fused plastic bags? What works best for you?

NICE job Lish! I really like how you used the Target logo.

Why thank you! It’s much trickier than I thought it would be, but I’m determined to do more with it.

yes, yes! I’ve done it to. It’s so so easy once you get the technique down and your iron setting just right. I get lots of compliments on my “travel” bag that I made from my trip to Canada.
