This survey will focus on businesses that rely on “creative talent,” from architecture to Web design.

Why “creative economy”?

The creative economy can be a foundation for economic development. But to grow existing companies and attract new creative-economy companies, Southeast Michigan has to show the world – and its own business population – the creative talent that lives here.

Please participate in this important initiative by completing this survey or by forwarding it to the appropriate person within your organization. Typically, Crain’s surveys are completed by the top executive, the CFO, the chief marketing person or the human resources manager.

Most of this survey will not be published but will be used to help shape economic development activities. Parts of this business inventory–company demographics– will be published on a new creative-sector Web site produced by Crain’s for Detroit Renaissance and may be published in Crain’s Detroit Business.

Your participation will ensure you are part of the new creative-sector Web site and Crain’s lists, which may in turn introduce your company and skills to new potential customers.”
