Save the Date! Detroit Urban Craft Fair 2010 will be December 4th and 5th at the Fillmore Detroit!

Ok, so it’s not the most ingenious solution ever, but I wanted to make a jewelry box from QVC (stop laughing) seem not-so-stuffy for a custom necklace I was giving my friend for her birthday last week. Realizing I was out of all my regular staples (tissue paper, ribbons, paper in general), I turned to my paper shredder. The shredded bits of my checkbook-balancing made for great DIY wrapping. And as long as nobody steals my identity, it’s super cheap. So, go to town with your paper shredder. Try magazine pages, faded construction paper… the paper sky is your limit. Not only are you putting your handmade gifts in some handmade wrapping, you’re recycling, too. How clever!
