Save the Date! Detroit Urban Craft Fair 2010 will be December 4th and 5th at the Fillmore Detroit!
We were all pretty much drooling over Steph (well, we usually do!) and her Martha Stewart Michaels craft loot this weekend. Steph’s collection of super-adorable animal alphabet cards made me head right out on Sunday. If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s worth the trip. Martha’s items have an entire aisle branded with her “good things-ness,” ranging from notecards to DIY wedding gift boxes. While some of the products seem a little pricey (that’s not surprising), a 40-percent-off coupon makes the products very much worth it. AND, I happened to notice these little bad boys while I was there.

These binder-ready idea pages are packed with tips and projects featuring Martha’s new line, of course, but could be made with any supplies you’ve got around the house.

So if you’re on a budget and can’t find your Michael’s coupon, but are still itching for a little Maaaartha, pick up all of these until your next paycheck. Then you can get the $2.99 Martha glue stick!

WHA? Everyone else has been reporting that Michael’s won’t allow you to use coupons towards MS purchases. Were you guys able to? INteresting!!

I was in Michael’s a couple of weeks ago and was freaked out by Martha’s sudden takeover in the paper isle. Stewart’s empire freaks me out (I had a panic attack when I saw her cocktail sets at Kmart yesterday), so I inquired about her crafting line to the girl at the checkout.
Apparently, Martha’s crafting line is exclusive to Michael’s, and she toured around to regional stores all over the country giving speeches to all of the employees of the craft store.
The checkout girl was equally freaked out about Martha, and let me know that the reason she won’t let coupons apply to MS crafting goods is that Stewart boasts her products are “far superior” to other crafting supplies, and therefore cannot be discounted.
Hmm.
Even though she is the Dick Cheny of the craft world, I can’t say I’m not gonna rip her off. Those birdie cards are damned cute.

Jenny - My coupon was taken off something else, but I didn’t realize that at all! Thanks for the heads up.
Liz - Great comment! I completely agree with you. I adored the bird stamps and tiny rolls of tissue paper.
If anyone has the punches, glue or other basic supplies, I’d love to hear if you think they are “far superior” to others.
