FYI: Talkin’ trash

Looking for some potential crafting supplies, but short on cash? No problem. Clean out your truck and head over to Birmingham for the city’s bi-annual “Bulky Pick-up Week.”

What? You heard me.

The city allows residents to dispose of non-standard trash items during the week of April 10 (and once again in September) free of charge. Goodies galore wind up out front of numerous homes and are usually picked up by those with an eye for repurposing (or just snagging some free stuff) before the trash trucks actually get to them. If it weren’t for Bulky Pick-up Week I wouldn’t be the proud owner of kid-sized organ/piano that still works like a charm. Seriously.
